April 15, 2011 -- ActionAIDS Executive Director Kevin Burns is interviewed by MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer on the Youth Condom Project in Philadelphia. The City of Philadelphia launched this project in response to the high rate of STDs among young people in the area.
Kevin talks about the need for sex education, and the high infection rates in the city. In Philadelphia, the Chlamydia rate among children ages 10 to 14 is five times higher than the national average. For the same group, Gonorrhea is four times higher than the national average.
